Still meeting with Debbie at
Capt. Jack’s. Come on down.
Attention: This Saturday is the yard sale to be held at
One other thing…when pricing
the items, put a decent price on the item. One can always come DOWN on the
price, but you can NEVER go UP!
I want to welcome two new members to the club, Brent Fonner and Ned Ross, both of whom were inducted into the club at last week’s
meeting. First chance to get to work is Friday, you guys. You joined a great
club at a great time. Welcome!
We were honored to have Lt. Gov. Bill Montgomery at the meeting, making one of his trips to see us.
(For those of you who don’t know, Bill
is a Marine who was on
We have looked at The Village Inn as a place to hold
our meetings, and it appears that this can be arranged. As most of you know,
they are in the throes of expanding. Our crew of intrepid searchers think is
will work very well for us. Looks like it will be 2 March before we can make
the change. They need to finish their remodeling.

(Check the website for your speaker assignment date.)
LAST WEEK: We
honored our Student of the Month, Brian
Taylor, a senior at FSDB, who is a very good woodworker to boot. He was
accompanied by Brett Sendler, from
the school, as well as his mother and sister, Joan Taylor and Angie Taylor.
We wish Brian all the best as he
moves forward in his life. In addition, we had our Human & Spiritual Values
speaker introduced by Skeeter, and
that was the new head football coach at Menendez, Keith Cronwell, who explained his philosophy which is similar to Joey Wiles. We have some of the most
spiritual coaches in this county, and the neat part is that they have a
tendency to win too… Or maybe they win because of it.
THIS WEEK: Our own resident Boy Scout, Lou Nester, has the duty. Bring it on, because we know that you are prepared.
NEXT WEEK: Our intrepid earring wearer, Frank Nemec, has the program responsibility, and we look forward to
it.
⅓-⅓-⅓ DRAWING WINNERS: Something that doesn’t happen very often occurred
last meeting, Art May had two of his
tickets pulled. Congrats to Art, but
REALLY mix those tickets up better next time. Buy your tickets early and often.
Late Breaking News:
This is one more reminder
that the yard sale is coming up, and we need some stuff to sell. Don’t wait
until the night before to bring it in. Sign up to help when the sign up sheet
comes to a table you are sitting at.
The annual Geography Bee is coming up soon and Bob will keep us posted as to when it
will be held. New members, this is a MUST attend! You will enjoy it as much as
the kids. Sign up to help at this one too.

Quote(s) of the Week:
"The prosperity of commerce is
now perceived and acknowledged by all enlightened statesmen to be the most
useful as well as the most productive source of national wealth, and has
accordingly become a primary object of its political cares." -—Alexander
Hamilton
"Why does any particular disaster kill
whom it does? Only God knows. It seems unlikely that He has briefed the
ministers and commentators so busy advancing their political agendas. However,
natural catastrophes do illustrate the uncertainty of life. God calls us to
love Him and our neighbors, create a culture that values the life and dignity
of the human person, and repent of our sins. And to do so now, because we never
know what the future holds." —Doug
Bandow
"We
have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we
please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to
appropriate a dollar of the public money." —Davy Crockett
